The Board of Airdrie Koinonia Christian School believes that all children from a family should be enrolled in the school, and so our rate structure is discounted for subsequent children to make Christian education affordable for the entire family. The family maximum for three children is one of the lowest in the Calgary region.

We also believe that anything important enough to be included in the school program should be covered by the normal tuition fees. There are, therefore, no other required or "hidden" fees (Library, Phys. Ed., Field Trips, Textbooks, Supplies, Capital Fees, etc.) which can rapidly escalate the actual costs. There are other expenses such as School Pictures, Hot Lunches, Extra-Curricular Sports or music, etc., but these are strictly optional.

It should be noted that Tuition Fees do not cover the entire costs of educating our children. Donations are also needed, but these are voluntary as the Lord lays it on each person's heart and are, of course, receipted as charitable gifts. Fundraising is another source of income for the school, and each family is expected to do their part (minimum $250 per year), but here the money generally comes from friends, relatives, and co-workers who participate in the fundraising activity.

There is also Financial Aid for those who cannot afford the rates as established. With the above information in mind, each family can make a realistic and informed decision about enrolling their children.

*Attendance at Parent-Teacher CARE meetings is rewarded with "Koinonia Bucks". This is our way of honoring the commitment of our most faithful and involved families. Koinonia Bucks are used to reduce tuition for subsequent years. Most families receive $200 in tuition credits to be applied against their next year's tuition. Furthermore, depending on the level of support from outside the school family, most or all of the tuition paid can be receipted as a charitable donation thus reducing the actual cost to a family considerably.
