Note: This page may not display correctly if you are currently using filtering software.
Because of the constantly evolving nature of the Internet, no one can guarantee that you or your children will be protected from all offensive material. However, you can share the responsibility for protecting children by supervising their access to the Internet. To assist you in policing the Internet we have provided you with links to all the major programs currently available. All internet connected computers at AKCS have Cybersitter installed, and in our view NO ONE should have internet access without protective software. See Mr. Hazeltine's article on The Internet.

CYBERsitter will block or alert you to access of adult oriented Internet sites such as World Wide Web pages, news groups, ftp sites, and even filter offensive terms and phrases from incoming and outgoing e-mail, news group articles, and WWW pages. Parents can also set up CYBERsitter to keep their children from giving out their name, address, and phone while on-line. The program also allows parents to control the times when the internet will be accessible or not. (Recommended by Mr. Hazeltine.) |
