Open Campus Privileges

 

1)     Open Campus Privileges are available to all grade eleven or twelve students during the Lunch Break. Students who have attained to the Honor Roll may have Open Campus Privileges during their spares also.

2)     Students with Open Campus Privileges may leave the school grounds during lunchtime, or for Honor Roll students, during their spares. These students may also be allowed to leave during other periods (e.g. Distance Education) with the approval of that teacher.

3)     To access these privileges each student must return the Open Campus Permission Form signed by their parents.

4)     Before leaving the school grounds, each student must personally sign out on the log which is kept in the high school building. Upon return, they should sign back in.

5)     Open Campus Privileges will ordinarily remain in force throughout the school year as long as the student remains on the Honor Roll for each Quarterly Report. Returning students who finished the previous year on the Honor Roll may begin the first semester with Open Campus Privileges.

6)     Students who abuse these privileges (e.g. failure to sign out, returning late, marks declining significantly, unsafe operation of vehicles, misbehavior off campus, etc.) will have their Open Campus Privileges revoked.

1)     I have reviewed the Open Campus Privileges with my child and hereby grant him permission to leave school grounds in accordance with these privileges.

2)     In addition to walking or being picked up by a parent, my child(ren) may leave in a vehicle with the following conditions:

  a)   May drive others              YES           NO            If Yes, How Many? ______

  b)   May ride with others        YES           NO            If Yes, How Many? ______

3)     I understand that the school cannot enforce these conditions but will take action if they are observed to have been violated.

4)     I understand that the school is not liable for my child while away from school grounds on Open Campus Privileges.

5)     I understand that this permission will remain in force throughout this school year unless revoked by me with written notice to the school.
